John McAviney is one of Ireland's foremost journalistic photographers with over 20 years experience across a variety of sectors ranging from press & corporate public relations, to agri-business and industrial photography. McAviney is also recognised as one of Ireland's leading Gaelic games photographers attending fixtures throughout the country on behalf of media and the Gaelic Athletic Association. Based at Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, McAviney operates a modern studio capable of a rapid turnaround on picture availability and digital transmission (wiring) of pictures to media as required. Both standard and digital photographic equipment can be used on call. McAviney is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ireland and of the Press Photographers Association of Ireland. A regular contributor of images to both national and local publications, both on direct commission and on behalf of clients, he is also the accredited lensman in Ireland for The Boston Herald newspaper and works on call for a number of other international publications.
